2.6 release notes

Hi All,

I'm done with the first pass over the 2.6 release notes, see them here:
http://llvm.org/docs/ReleaseNotes-2.6.html

Please feel free to directly edit the file or send improvements. We aim to release 2.6 tomorrow or early next week.

What is the reason for the splitting of add and others into integer
and floating point versions? Consistency with the div and remainder
operations? I think the reason should be made clear in the release
notes.

Cheers,
David

There are flags that only make sense for integer ops that don't make sense for float ops. Those flags are listed.

I'm sure it's too late to do anything about the 2.6 release notes now,
but I've just noticed they say:

  Major Changes and Removed Features

  * All LLVM tools now default to overwriting their output file,
behaving more like standard unix tools. Previously, this only happened
with the '-f' option.

However, I'm pretty sure this change is only on trunk, not on the 2.6
branch, as described here:

http://lists.cs.uiuc.edu/pipermail/llvmdev/2009-August/025145.html

Thanks,
Jay.
