Are there binary packages (apt, rpm ...) of libcxx(abi) 6.0 suited for
Ubuntu 16.04?

Should probably read deb instead / additional of / to rpm.

You should be able to use http://apt.llvm.org/xenial/ – see https://apt.llvm.org/ for details.

I’ve had occasional stability problems accessing this from CI scripts, but it looks like it’s operating correctly now.

My understanding is, that libcxx is not available through apt.llvm.org, where do you see it on this page?

My mistake – the subject said “clang 6.0 packages” and I didn’t notice that you were asking about libcxx. You’re right, those are not present there.
