[EuroLLVM 2017] Information about SRC

Hello,

I am interested in the upcoming student research competition at EuroLLVM'17.

After reading the website and its FAQ, I still have some unanswered questions. I tried to reach out to David Chisnall but he has not replied to my email so far,

I was wondering if

- Is the SRC paper single colon or double colon ?
- Do I need to register to compete in the SRC ?
- On easychair, which category should I use to upload my paper ? None of ones available seems to to fit (Talk, Lightning Talk, Poster, BoF, Tutorial).

I will be grateful if you can send me this information.

Regards,
David Côme.

Hi David,

Chisnall is definitely the right person to talk to in this case. I'm
copying him here, just in case.

For now, don't register nor submit your paper on the current
categories, as you said, none of them would be correct.

cheers,
--renato

Hi David,

Sorry, your email ended up in my spam folder. There are no explicit constraints on the formatting for the submission, but remember that it’s going to be reviewed by the PC, and trying to cram too much text in is likely to make it hard to read (e.g. if you go below 10pt, don’t be surprised if the reviewers give up trying to read it).

David

Hi David,

We will add to easychair the missing category for SRC.

Thanks for reporting, and sorry for the inconvenience.

Kind regards,
Arnaud

Hello David,

Many thanks you for your mail, you raised a couple of really good
questions!

I tried to get a hold of David Chisnall but couldn't. However, I'll try
to answer you questions as good as I can now.

- Is the SRC paper single colon or double colon ?

We haven't talked about it yet but I will propose a double colon "ACM
style" template with 10pt font size. I don't think anybody has really
strong feelings about this, thus you can probably continue under that
assumption.

- Do I need to register to compete in the SRC ?

Not necessarily, at least not yet. If your paper is accepted and you are
going to present it you have to though. If you want to participate
regardless of the paper your should register now. In any case, early
bird pricing is available for three days after the notification
deadline.

- On easychair, which category should I use to upload my paper ? None of
ones available seems to to fit (Talk, Lightning Talk, Poster, BoF,
Tutorial).

As Renato said, none of the above. I asked Anton to add an SRC track, it
should be available soon.

I will update you and the webpage once we decided on a template and/or
added the SRC track.

I hope the answers I could provide help a bit.

Best regards,
  Johannes
