# LLVM 19.x release branch created, main is now 20.x

Hello,

As previously announced, the release branch for LLVM 19.x is now created (`release/19.x`). Version on main has been updated to `20.0.0git` and release notes has been cleared.

In three days the first RC for LLVM 19.1 will be created. To include changes in this branch you need to follow [the guide](https://llvm.org/docs/GitHub.html#backporting-fixes-to-the-release-branches) in our documentation.

File issues that require attention in the release under the [LLVM 19.x Release](https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/issues?q=is%3Aopen+is%3Aissue+milestone%3A%22LLVM+19.X+Release%22) milestone.

For maintainers - please review and update Release Notes on the release branch.
