[RFC] llvm-elfabi/ifs merge plan

Hi, LLVM-Dev,

I am one of the developers of llvm-elfabi, which is a tool to emit text and binary stubs for shared objects. The llvm-elfabi shares many similarities and purposes with llvm-ifs. After talking with llvm-ifs developers, we think it’s better to merge these tools to avoid reinvesting efforts on 2 tools with the similar functionalities. I drafted a proposal (https://gist.github.com/zeroomega/dd3ad98f60a8e601091974d139b85790) to merge these 2 tools together. Thanks in advance for any comments.

Hi Haowei

This is a nice merge plan.
I’d be happy to start reviewing patches.

The only thing I saw possibly missing from the draft proposal was the field for ‘ObjectFormat: ELF/PECOFF/TBD’ (which for now should be unused?).
Do we still want to do that?

Yes, 'ObjectFormat: ELF/PECOFF/TBD' will be added. This draft was sent out before our discussion on this field, that’s why it was not there.

Excellent. I look forward to your diffs on phab
