is there going to be a vendor now as an additional element to identify a configuration?

i..e.

mips-acme-linux-gnu for the compiler built by acme for mips?

i kind of like that idea because it allows there to be more than one source of compilers for a particular configuration.

If you mean from the configure side of things, then sure - but this isn't the list for that. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense for internal to clang since you likely just have a command line option to handle different types of codegen.
