What does 'xforms' mean ? (context included in post)

I’m not sure about the meaning of the term xforms in the codebase

Does the term xforms deserve to be added to the LLVM Lexicon? It isn’t in there yet.

I’m pretty sure it just means “transforms”, though I’m not completely certain of the etymology. They seem to come from very old code, even the newer instances look copy/paste/modified.

If any change is needed, I’d probably go in and edit the comments instead.

xforms = transforms (I’ve also see xlation = translation). It’s jargon, and a google search turns up the meaning fairly readily.
