Now that 64-bit Intel Mac OS X has been publicly announced, we can finally say something about this topic.
Yep, the initial support for 64-bit Intel has been completed. We are awaiting management approval before committing it to the public repository. No firm date has been set, but it should be very soon.

It will probably be on the order of 2-3 weeks at the worst. We want to get the code in as much as anyone.
BTW, kudos to Evan for doing the port single-handedly.
