2026 LLVM Community Area Team Elections

The LLVM Community Area Team elections are beginning! The election schedule is:

  • January 12, 2026 - Area Team nominations opens (Open now!!!)
  • January 25, 2026 - Area Team nominations close
  • January 26, 2026 - Voting opens
  • February 9, 2026 - Voting closes
  • February 10, 2026 - Results announced on Discourse

Background

The 2026 LLVM Area Team elections are being conducted in accordance to the LLVM Project Governance.

Elections will be held for the LLVM, Clang, MLIR and Infrastructure Area teams which are currently operating.

Eligibility

All individuals with commit access to the LLVM monorepo are eligible to run for any one Area Team.

All individuals with commit access to the LLVM monorepo are eligible to vote in all Area Team elections.

Nomination Process

Any individual with commit access to LLVM may nominate themselves for any one Area Team election in a given election cycle. They may do so by completing the nomination form.

The nomination form has required fields for your GitHub ID, your full name, and a preferred email address for communication as well as an optional field for a brief candidate statement. All candidates are strongly encouraged to provide a
candidate statement which will be displayed on the election webpage for voters to read when voting.
