LLVM SVN r45024 fails to complete building at the linker stage on my Virtual Private Linux server running Debian Etch with GCC 4.1.2.

I’ve tried with GCC 3.3 as well to no avail.
CC=“gcc-3.3” CXX=“g+±3.3” make -j2
I can provide any system-specific version numbers per request to help debug this issue. Is anyone else having this problem building on Linux?
