The call for papers for the toolchains track at the Linux Plumbers Conference remains open until 24th July.

According to the LLVM Calendar in the coming week there will be the following:

• Online sync-ups on the following topics: formal specification, pointer authentication, qualification, Clang static analysis, OpenMP, Clang C and C++ language working group, Flang, RISC-V LLVM embedded toolchains, HLSL, LLVM libc math.

On the forums

• Yingwei Zheng shared a progress update on the llvm-ub-aware interpreter.

• Gaëtan Bossu spun off an RFC on re-vectorising target intrinsics.

• Sergey Shcherbinin answered a series of questions about their profile-guided software loop data prefetcher proposal.

• Ryan Landay proposes a late stage X86 machine pass that removes a per-iteration penalty in multi-precision arithmetic loops.

• Vassil Vassilev started an RFC thread on adding an API that allows plugins to place their diagnostics in a warning group for that plugin.

• Konstantin Belochapka started to discuss synchronising LTO code generation configuration between Clang and LLD, noting that both lld and Clang currently use separate paths for initialising this configuration.

LLVM commits

• The RISCVMakeCompressible pass is now run at Os as well as Oz. 434e4e1.

• llvm-dwarfdump learned how to measure DWARF coverage of local variables in terms of source lines. 5db2a39.

• An x86-64 backend for Lightweight Fault Isolation (LFI) was committed. eba2fde4.

• A new TargetLowering hook was added for shrinking target-independent notes. 764645b.

• An XQFloat extraneous conversion removal pass was added to the Hexagon backend. b7091e6.

• The LangRef was rewritten as Markdown. 2cb32e4.

• The System V X86-64 ABI was implemented in LLVM’s ABI library. cfa5d6f.

• LLVM’s dependency on Python was clarified. 8a4a2ae.

Clang commits

• -Wunused-template is now enabled under -Wall. 1529d35.

• Structures containing riscv_rvv_vector_bits are now passed using vector registers. f7f0661.

• An atomic line logger was added. 1b87946.

Other project commits

• Alternative real expression lowering (as allowed in the language standard) was implemented in Flang. eb4690c2.

• fdopendir and inet_ntop was implemented in LLVM’s libc. 7b9a58e, 4db63ee.

• Ben Joffe’s fast date conversion algorithm was implemented in LLVM’s libc. 2705f46.

• Microsoft contributed MSVC’s implementation of exception_ptr for Windows. 9e13720.

• The memcpy API was implemented in libsycl. 6e0de1c.

• A RISC-V architecture plugin for trap validation was added to LLDB. c5026e4.

• A configurable logging API was added to orc-rt. f053877.
