It’s is much nicer than the existing one: kudos for the work
How are the subprojects sorted? I was thinking it would alphabetical but it seems customized somehow?
I would think that the " Events" section would be at the top somehow instead of a bit hidden at the bottom: it is the most “dynamic” part of the front page. In theory that should contain the “upcoming events” and not “past events”, but since we’re not updating it this way maybe rename it to “past events” and leave it where it is?
The “Upcoming Releases” section is lost, is this intentional?
Where will the source code be published? How are we gonna contribute / edit it moving forward? (maybe this was explained in the thread already, but skimming through I couldn’t find it just now)
Current website is in github and has a CI build. I’m assuming this will continue, but hopefully be better, simpler, faster.
Also, I only see the main page new, the rest is still old design. Is that an artifact of the testing ground or we only have the front-page redesigned, so far?
Getting involved has no links. Some website buttons highlight, the ones under subprojects don’t. The buttons for feedback don’t highlight. Also maybe the link for the subproject should be added also to its name, not only to learn more, but that is preference. The big get started and releases main buttons get an underline, while the rest of the buttons on the website highlight. In light mode the highlight is so close to the original color that is is barely visible, the navbar is the worst offender. Text wrapping for the subprojects is wonky (may be resolution dependent), with some lines half empty. Libc++, polly and MLIR are the worst in my opinion.
The highlight is only barely visible on dark mode and I can’t see the difference in light mode. One common effect here is inverting colours: dark-light ↔ light-dark.
One more thing. The little browser tab icon in the old website is the LLVM Wyvern. The new website, at least for me, is some grey circle. Would be nice to keep the wyvern.
The links to past events have gone missing? Traditionally the next meeting is still listed as “upcoming” for several months after the conference is over, so it would be nice if the links would auto-migrate to an archived section after the dates have passed.
Hello, are there any plans to extend the re-design efforts to the documentation? For example, the docs are not responsive and difficult to watch on small screens, such as smartphones.
@Chaitanya-Shahare@tonic Looks like this post didn’t get any activity in a few months … The new website mockup looks great. Any plans to move forward with this ? It would be unfortunate to lose track of this effort. Thanks!
